A Life With All The Bells & Whistles…

24
Jul
2010

So many people think that having it all means you really “have it all” in the materialistic sense.

Wrong.

Coming from someone who feels like she herself actually somehow does have it all, it is a complete state of mind.  Sure I love new threads and the extravagant… but it has always been the smaller things that capture my heart and make me smile :) .

At the end of the day life is all about balance and never taking anything for granted.  Some may say this is a piece of cake, but I beg to differ.  There is always something to improve on either within or outwards of yourself, and this my dears is where the happiness lies.  It’s all about your personal journey and how you enjoy it as well as affect others along your way.

One of the greatest pleasures when my mind is sidetracked or unfocused, is to ride my white and pink rimmed cruiser bike downtown and enjoy the wind and sunshine on my face and shoulders.  I even have a basket in the front (great for picking up cupcakes on the way home) where my pug sits and we get to enjoy the moment together.  I still have yet to find a bell, but after this post that may very well change with these handmade jems (I am especially diggin’ the ice cream one… would match my bike perfecto)!

This is what it’s all about.  Sharing.  Taking those little things in life that actually are free and indulging when appropriate.

The more you can give to yourself, the more you can give to others – charge your batteries accordingly.

514 Outfit Post – Green Getaway

2010

Nothing like getting away from the city to realize how beautiful the outdoors can really be!  I went up to my grandfathers this past weekend and reveled in being able to walk barefoot and lie in the grass.

There is something about long ferns and wild weeds that brings me back to my childhood days out in the back field making life-size tee-pee’s and transforming the backs shed into my own personal tree-house creation studio…

I only brought up a few things with me… jean shorts, two tops and a leather jacket.

Essentials.

If home is where the heart is, than my grandfathers house is most definitely where parts of my soul stays throughout the year…

When the city takes over, the country girl in me yearns for homemade hearty breakfasts, feeding horses carrots and apples by the side of the road and climbing trees… letting my hair down and sleeping on the floor in the living room.

I may not be a simple girl, but it has always been the simplest things in life that I enjoy the most!

This was one trustworthy moth if I may say so myself!

My momma’s baby pug Rose came up for the weekend, isn’t she just darling?

My favorite part about this D.E.P.T top?

I wear it bra-less for a supremely natural feel.  I was never afraid of a little nip au naturale…

Felt so good to reconnect.  Gotta make it a point to get away more often – clears the mind and refocuses it back in the right direction.

Must be somethin’ in the air out there…

Pug Love!

14
Jun
2010

Pugs are irresistible in EVERY.  WAY!  For those of you who know even a smidgen about me, you know how completely and utterly obsessed I am with these creatures that don’t quite fit in the category of  being  “just” a dog.  There is something about their character that gets you hooked and keeps you tirelessly coming back for more…

… could it be their smashed-in faces?  Or maybe their snorts, grunts and wheezing…

… or maybe it’s how they burrow under covers and curl into tiny little balls (that make for great replacement water bottles)…

… or that they resemble pigs via curly tails and an insatiable appetite for any and every kind of food out there… lol… oh piggles…

Sooooo… you can only IMAGINE how amazing I think this pug pillow is!!!  The greatest thing though, is how the staff at the Onze shops dress them up differently every week or so ;) … when I dropped by on Friday they were wearing golf hats… hehehehehe…

Go get yours before I buy them all and assemble my very own pug pillow army (no… seriously, I ain’t jokin’ folks)!!!
