Today on the blog Sylvia shows how to do a Marble Manicure!

1. Get all your material ready and accessible. This is necessary as nail polish can dry pretty quickly, so we want everything to be easy to reach. You need: nail polish remover, two or more colours you want in the design, Q-tips, toothpicks, scotch tape, and a bowl of water.

2. Make sure all your nail polish are ready to use. Take your first polish and let the polish from the brush drop into the water. The polish will spread out in the water.

3.Take your second colour and repeat the same step.

4.Alternate the colours until you have as many levels as you want.

5.Take a toothpick and cut the design into parts in order to create a marbling effect.

6. Once the design pleases you, make sure you have scotch-taped your finger in order to minimize the amount of nail polish that will end up on your finger.

7. Dip your finger in the design.

8. While your finger is still submerged in the water, remove the excess nail polish with the toothpick.

9. Remove your finger from the water, and the design will remain on your nail. 10. Remove the scotch tape and with a Q-tip and nail polish remover, clean up your finger and your cuticle.

11. Apply a top coat, and voila!

Tips: Putting on a base coat really helps the design stay on. Make sure the covers of your nail polish are off such that it will be easy for you to alternate the colours quickly. Nail polish hardens in the water if you wait too long in between the intervals. It will also be easier if the water is room temperature.

Fishtail Braid

Boutique Onze Loves DIY! Thats why we have decided to do DIY fridays! Every friday check in with the Boutique Onze blog for “Do it your self” projects!

Today, Sylvia the hair expert at Boutique Onze shows how to make a Fishtail Braid, step by step!

1.Straighten your hair, or if you do not want to do that, at least remove the tangles.

2.Separate your hair in two large sections, going straight down the middle of your head.

3.Take a small strand from the outside of the section you chose to start the braid with.

4. Take this small strand and cross it over the first section and join it with the second section.

5.Repeat this step with the other side. take another small strand from the second section and pull it over the second section to join it with the first section.

6.Repeat these steps until you’ve reached the end of your braid.

Voilà you have a beautiful fishtail braid!

Tips : You can decide the thickness of the strands for your braid. If you use thinner strands, the braid will look more detailed. Try to use the same thickness with every strand or else the braid will look uneven. This braid can be worn neatly or messily, so you can play with it after you’ve completed the braid. If you’re going for a messy look, pull on the strands to loosen them up.

Last night my friend and I decided to try giving ourself caviar manicures! A litty Messy at first, but the results were worth it!
How do you achieve this look? Pretty easy! First you paint your nails with a coat of nail polish and wait until it’s almost dry. Then place a tray under ur nails and sprinkle the caviar on evenly( that’s the hard part) and voila! The caviar set is available at Sephora! So what do you guys think?
Would rock this look?
